The Role
This role is for a graduate electrical engineer to focus on renewable energy projects. Due to the dynamics of the renewable energy sector, flexibility of the team needs, the job comes with many growth opportunities. There is the opportunity for experience and development in order to register with ECSA. You will work within the core of projects team with a focus on renewable energy projects. This will provide you the opportunity to PV and/or wind energy world. At first, you will work as a trainee with the expectation to move into project engineering or project management after obtaining the necessary experience. You will be working with qualified Engineers (ECSA), designers and project managers.

Key Responsibilities: Dependent on Project Phase

Engineer in Training Role

  • Support the project manager in coordination and submission of all project related documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide Design and Design approval assistance for the electrical balance of plant works
  • Assist management of site works by conducting site visits with the project manager/engineer
  • Assist in the coordination and management of Factory and Site Acceptance Tests together with the project manager and engineer
  • Assist in finalization of project as-built documentation
  • Assist in the basic design process of the MV reticulation network and associated substation and Eskom Grid connection works
  • Assist with grid code compliance and RETEC testing
  • Provide project tender assistance during project development

Position Specific Requirements

Minimum qualification/experience required

  • BSc Electrical/Mechanical Engineer – Graduate or 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Other skills (not compulsory) – knowledge of DigSilent, Autocad, MS Projects
